The SAMproject / UPDATE- February 10, 2015

Thanks to contributions of Delmar Smith ($5,000) and Rick Smith & Kaye Davis $5,000 matching Lisa and Paul Pollock’s offer of $5,000… The SAMproject to install a life-size Brittany Bronze in Grand Junction, TN and raise funds for the Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame Endowment Fund is underway…

The SAMproject now has the funding to produce the first 52 (of the Limited Edition of 111) SAM Bronzes which are at the foundry waiting for a sample to approve quality and patinas. Once approved, It will take a month or two to prepare the 52 bronzes ready for sale and delivery. The walnut for the bases has been engraved, sanded and hand- rubbed ready to be attached to the bronzes.

The project currently has 21 reservations and needs to get commitments for the other 31 SAM Bronzes at $500 each. As monies coming are available, the sculpture, Matthew Gray Palmer of San Juan Island will start creating the life-size image and prepare it for the foundry. Matthew will provide photos of his progress that will be used for advertising, public relations and social media. A step-by-step schedule is being established to assure the Life-size Brittany Bronze will be unveiled at the BRITTANY FIELD TRIAL HALL OF FAME meeting in Grand Junction in February 2016.

Rick Smith and Ken Jacobson have been writing the PACOLET CHEYENNE SAM Book that will be printed as a On Demand book so that it can be edited and/or added to after the unveiling. Robin Tomasi will be the books Editor. Everyone at the unveiling will be given a copy of the First Edition. When all of the SAM Bronzes are sold, we will update the bronze plaques on the monument with all 111 SAM Bronze owners. It may take a additional editions to finalize the book as we correct and/or add information. Selling the first 52 bronze, will create the funds to produce and sell the remaining 59 SAM Bronzes.

111 GOLD SAM Pins are numbered and go with their respective owners purchase of a Limited Edition SAM Bronze.

An additional 100 BRONZE SAM pins are offered for donations of $25 or more. Wearing the pins will give everyone an opportunity to open a conversation concerning The SAMproject and help us sell more of the SAM Bronzes. Business cards explaining The SAMproject are available to anyone who would like to hand out the prospective participants in the project.
